Recognizing Other Fallen:

So, Fallen can't just pick each other out of a crowd. There are a few ways to pick up that someone isn't on the level...

1- All Fallen have Supernatural Awareness. More than any other creature type in the WoD they can tell when woojee shit is going down. As specified in other posts, Fallen themselves flare on this awareness whenever they evoke a Lore that requires Faith.

2- If another Fallen would ever invoke Revelation, you know what they are.

3- They can always just show each other.

4- The Devil power 'Lamp of Faith' (if not actively resisted by a Fallen) always reveals Fallen to the user. The faith of an angel is different from that of people.

So, you've just met a Fallen. Great. Now what? What can you possible know about them? First off, unless you have a Celestial name of a person, you can't really figure out much about them. If you see their Apoc Form, you can figure out their House and perhaps their Visage. It's hard to figure that out. If you get their celestial name, you can make a check to know some details on the Fallen in question. Generally this is an Intelligence + Legacy roll, difficulty 9. Here are a list of things that can lower the difficulty...

Knowing the Fallen's House= -1
Knowing the Fallen's Visage= -1
If you shared a Legion in the War= -1
Eminence (of target) 1-2= -1
Eminence (of target) 3-4= -2
Eminence (of target) 5= -3


The number of successes you get tell you know you remember about the Fallen.
1 success= Revealing the purpose of any Eminence the fallen has.
2 successes= Generalized exploits.
3 successes= A fair bit of what this Fallen did during the war.
4 successes= What they did before the Fall, purpose, God's plan for this Fallen.
5 successes= Why they fell. A piece of their true name (can be used for further research)

Alright, I have a very important update to this policy!

Most of the STs don't read every scene going on on the boards unless our attention is drawn to them, and even then we're 'very busy people' (tm) and don't want to sift through the information IN that thread to find above elements. I'm delighted to do these rolls and pass along information about NPCs (typically regarding PCs I give you your successes and tell you to talk to the player involved so they can tell their own story). 

However!

Please note that there are modifiers to that difficulty. Some of these you might not know (like the target's Eminence), some only lower the difficulty if you DO have that information (like if you know their House or Visage). When asking for a Legacy roll, if you have any of the difficulty modifiers, please include them in your request so that we get your difficulty right and get you all the information that you are entitled to
